When one chapter ended, a new adventure in real estate began, fueled by a passion for helping others and creating a fulfilling career I loved.
For a long time, I had been growing restless in my corporate career. The routine of marketing and finance behind a desk just didn't align with the life I wanted. When my wife received a job opportunity in Colorado, it was the catalyst I needed. Without hesitation, I quit my job, ready to embrace a new and exciting challenge. The prospect of trying something different and more engaging drove me to take this bold step into the unknown.
I had always been interested in real estate, fascinated by the housing market and drawn to lake homes and unique properties. My wife and I often drove around, admiring houses and keeping tabs on what was selling in our area. This hobby turned into a passion, and Colorado provided the perfect opportunity to dive into the industry. I started working for a title company, selling their services to mortgage companies and real estate agents.
However, it didn't take long for me to realize that I was on the wrong side of the business. The agents I worked with were living a better quality of life than me, and their jobs centered around helping their clients—something I knew I would enjoy. It became clear that I needed to switch gears.
From the very beginning of my career as a REALTOR®, I loved how fun real estate was, helping clients achieve a huge goal while also getting to know them better throughout the process. It made closings infinitely more rewarding, knowing I helped a new friend through a complex process. By 2006, I left title work to pursue real estate full time.
Shortly after, our first daughter was born, and we decided to move back to Minnesota. This transition came with its own set of challenges, but it ultimately turned out to be the best decision for both my family and my career. I tapped into my natural market, reconnecting with friends, family and acquaintances, applying my knowledge and experience in real estate to help them achieve their goals.
Through the market crash, I focused on helping people through foreclosures and selling foreclosed properties. The work was rewarding, and my team and I quickly gained momentum. Once the market normalized, I began working with many new construction homes, adjusting once more to the changing demands of the market. This allowed me to develop new skills and see the building process from beginning to end, which has been hugely beneficial to helping all of my clients.
Whether working with buyers, sellers or those looking to build, nothing compares to the joy on my clients’ faces when they see the result of all our hard work—from getting their dream home to earning a great deal on a listing, it is the best feeling to help people through this process. Now that we live on the lake, I have also started taking clients who are interested in the lake lifestyle out on the pontoon for showings. It’s just another way I like to connect and make the process fun!
When I look back, I’m grateful I took a leap of faith and stepped into real estate. It has been the most fulfilling career and has enriched my life in countless ways, allowing me to meet and become friends with so many great people. My goal is to continue being the go-to person for friends, family and community members, ensuring they have the best possible experience when buying or selling a home!
When not working, I love family time, supporting my daughters in basketball, hosting gatherings and boating. It has become a tradition for my daughters and me to go to car shows together. We take our 1956 Chevy Bel Air and a 1967 convertible Mustang and enjoy looking at the other classic cars.
Each transaction offers a unique opportunity to build relationships and help clients achieve their dreams. I enjoy going above and beyond and educating my clients throughout the process to bring the best outcome! With years of experience in real estate, along with many years working in new construction, I excel in project management, follow-up and follow-through, and ensuring every step of the transaction goes smoothly. The variety in my work keeps me motivated and constantly learning, making every day an exciting challenge.
In every transaction, I strive to provide exceptional service and show my genuine care for my clients even after the transaction is over. My goal is to ensure you feel confident, informed and supported throughout your home buying or selling journey. I go the extra mile by maintaining constant communication, paying attention to the smallest details and being readily available to address any concerns. I believe in making the process enjoyable, often incorporating fun and relaxed elements, like discussing options over a meal or showing lakefront homes on a laid-back pontoon ride. My commitment to authenticity and building long-term relationships ensures that you not only find the right home but also have a positive and memorable experience!
